I feel this "trend" (if you can call it that) wearing on me, not to mention my pocket book. Every year it seems that the amount people spend goes up and up. Why do we do this? What happened to making gifts, or giving cookies?...

on writing a novel? I feel like I have the potential to do it but I have never really looked into publishing or anything like that. Does anyone out there have any advice or words of encouragement about writing a novel?

vronron I hear ya on the whole writer's block thing. I find that I'll have a really good stint and write a few pages or more and then if I stop for a little while my brain is dead and all I see is words on a page. I find that watching movies in the genre also...

vronron That's awesome how you trained them that way. They do look really funny when they are all wet. We have a great big tupper ware bin that we fill with a couple of inches of water and their reaction to trying to get used to it is great.

I am 21 and have a seven month old son, I often have people looking at me strangely. But all over the news are stories of fifteen and sixteen year old girls that have abused the system and had a child just to get the baby bonus....

vronron I too am lucky in the fact that I have a niece and nephew that I got to practice on, somewhat anyways. Learning some of the basics like changing diapers and the like. I don't as of yet have children, but one day hope to. Good luck with the baby!
