I would like to purchase a DSLR camera but still undecided which one to buy: Nikon, Canon, or Sony. what did you get if you have one?

I have a good friend who currently lives out of the country. The thing is, she's already 29 years old, but she hasn't had any real relationship yet. I have ran out of good advice for her and she's feeling bad about her situation....
