Could you risk your life for your best friend?

Obviously, we have policemen, firefighters, and rescue squads who are willing to put their lives on the line to save other people, whether they are family or strangers. However, if you're not a member of any of these lifesavers, would you be willing to risk your life to save your friend? Please explain why you would or why you would not. Thank you.

I don't think I could. I have a son and I could sacrifice my life for him. But a friend? I don't think I could.

My husband needs me and I cannot give my life to a friend, but I would give my life for him.

I see, that's a good reason not to. Of course, your husband counts on you.

@Jenaisle I do not believe my husband could live alone without me. I need to be healthy for him.

If we are talking friends only, and not family, my answer is mixed. I think of a couple of my friends, and they aren’t married, nor do they have children. So I probably wouldn’t. My friend with kids and a husband to depend on her, I think I would. But my single friend who does not know the Lord? I absolutely would die for her because I want to give her more time to know Jesus.

This is a perfect answer, Amber. I would think so too. The circumstances would dictate what one should do. Thank you for an enlightening answer.

That's a great explanation, Amber. Sometimes people wonder why evil people live so long, but God is giving them a chance to receive salvation before it's too late.

I may not be because in emergency we try to save ourselves and family first

I can't for sure I have my two kids I'll rather do it for them even now there are so many sacrifices that most mothers are sacrificing for them children it's enough already

I doubt I have any friends who would likely do the same for me, so I without a doubt will not do the same for them. Maybe for family I might , but then again it depends.

I like your answer. I wouldn't truly know how to react unless in that actual situation.

Only for my son and perhaps nephews, although I have been known to protect others ..standing in front of them and harm..maybe now I am too old. Hope this does not happen.

I would hope that I wouldn't hesitate if it were an emergency. I think she would do the same for me. Of course, my husband is my number one best friend and I know both of us would give our lives for each other.

I wish I could say yes but I think I would only be able to say yes to a family member.
