A demolition crew in Forest Acres South Carolina were demolishing the Richmond Mall on Thursday of last week when the demolition crew found a time capsule that was supposed to be opened on January 20, 2033.
The Richmond Mall which had its last closed in September 2023 is being demolished to make room for a mixed use development'
The good news is that the capsule will be reburied in the new park that will replaced until January 20, 2033 according to Forest City Councilman Stephen Oliver.
The Richmond Mall opened for business in 2000 and closed in 2023. It is best to keep the information about what is inside the time capsule until the due date in 2033 in my opinion we like mysteries.

Many malls are going down now. Sign of the times I guess. Ours is nothing like it used to be.

You are right that malls are closing like some malls in the Greater New Orleans area have closed as well as theaters.

I could make a long list of the things I did not have or weren´t important to me in the year 2000. And on the other hand, I, too, had lots of things I don´t have now then. Time is funny.

I am glad that the capsule will be reburied and agree that the information should be left alone till the due date.

January 20, 2033. So specific. Yeah, I'm curious. I hope it's worth the hype.

I do not like mysteries, and so l would have just opened the capsule. Why waste money reburying it?
