Enjoyed the kids coming home today

Tammy, Jay, Landon, and our great granddaughter Alice came from Mt Pleasant (next to Charleston SC) today.
Robert and Nathan were here, also...they only live about an hour away.
Overall it was such a wonderful get-together. Dale, Robert and Jay went fishing early and caught catfish and white perch.
We fried fish and cornbread with mashed potatoes and gravy, slaw and pecan pies.
It was so good to see Alice after several years...we celebrated her ninth birthday. She's such a little monkey, so pretty and funny. I wish she lived closer.
The weather was perfect so we enjoyed sitting outside. Landon rode the four wheeler and Jay took Alice fishing off the bank of the creek next door.
They brought Saint, their huge Golden Retriever and he really enjoyed running around outside.
It would have been a perfect day, but my back was hurting so bad. Tammy insisted on doing everything and all the kids spoiled me.
Hoping I can get the ablation procedure on my back soon, but it was such a blessing having most of our babies home.
God is so very good to us!

I live being able to spend time with my family. Thankfully my kids live near us. We see them most Sundays at church and most of the holidays plus other times too.
It'll be years before I see any great grandchildren considering my three grandkids are only ten, four and under six months. (I got a late start having kids).

@1creekgirl yes we are. I do have two siblings that live in other states though. One sister was in VA for a very long time and is now in Ohio but her girls are in CA. A brother lives in AZ. I don't see them as often.

I am so glad you had such a nice day with your family, Vicki. I know you were in pain, but I am sure you were so glad to see them.

Yes, I know how hard it is. During and after some surgeries and mishaps I have had, my kids have pitched in for me...and oh, I wanted to be up and doing, not sitting! I totally get that.

What a great day! I hope you get some relief from the back pain very soon!
We had catfish for dinner tonight and I got out of cooking it. I have been dealing with swollen feet all week so talked hubby into being the Chef tonight! Yay me, or should that be yay him? I'll go for both!!

@1creekgirl Pretty much new. I wore sandals most of the day today instead of my slip on shoes with footies. That worked better. I have an appointment in one week or week and half so we will see what happens. I am sure I'll get a diuretic
