should I keep using the Service Pack 2 or get the Service Pack 3?

Well, some friends of mine told me that SP3 is buggy and makes the pc runs slower. but, I've read that actually it isn't buggy at all and increase my comp performance. So, what should I do? keep the SP2 or update it?
