Abdel Basset al-Megrahi, aka the Lockerbie bomber, is most probably going to be released and returned to Libya to die. He has little time left, having suffered from cancer for several years now. What intrigues me is why do...

He has certainly been fairly tried and convicted, even if there are some doubts, and was imprisoned in line with Scottish Law. (I'm not sure if Americans know that in the UK we also have a strange form of federalism with differing laws and court systems in...

I do not feel, nor does my post in any way suggest that the UK has a more highly developed national moral conscience than the US. I have no idea where you have got that idea from. I have simply pointed out that as two nations with a shared history, shared...

I understand your point of view, it is very well explained, but in the UK special consideration IS given to prisoners with terminal illnesses. To the disgust of some British people, Ronnie Biggs, the 'Great Train Robber', has just been released two weeks ago...

Broad is the best bowler for England?! Have you not heard of James Anderson? Both Anderson and Swann have better figures than Broad over the last 6 months. Broad will develop into a good bowler but is far too inconsistent at the moment. He did well against...

The strange thing is that if you use terms like Republican or Democrat, some Americans have a Pavlovian reaction and immediately assume the worse. I know that you and I will never agree on politics, but I have always respected your right to express your view...

Nederlands were the better team and deserved their victory. However, missing three run outs, all from a matter of feet, is a disappointing effort. Especially dropping the ball on the second one.

Would your grandma really be offended by the word D**K? What about Lon Cheney & Lon Cheney Jr - Mr D Cheney is not the only Cheney, first names give clarity. Amazingly, you have either no sense of humour or have never encountered irony. Some people just can't...

That probably explains the smile on his face. I wouldn't mind not being able to use the d word, but I don't want people thinking I'm discussing Lon or Lon Jr! Are they related, do you know? I like old horror films and it isn't a common surname.

Strangely, Mr Cheney (not my personal favourite, Lon Cheney Jr) does seem to be appearing on US tv more since Obama got elected than he did when in the government. Mind you, here in Britain we've just made our version of Donald Trump, Sir Alan Sugar, a peer of...

Aggressive discussion? I'm only pointing out that myLot has banned the use of the D-I-C-K because they believe that it will cause offense, yet as you have shown you can use words like hooker with impunity. It seems a very juvenile, puerile, facile and...
