Has anyone dealt with a cat who had struvite crystals? What did you end up doing to prevent it from happening again?

I know surgery is an option. I do know there is certain food specifically for it. My cat has gotten it for a 2nd time and I'm hoping there isn't a next. The surgery is awfully expensive unfortunately. I'd like to hear all stories...

snowy @BriHennessey He had them 2 or 3 times prior to being on the Royal Canin Urninary SO Royal Canin is scientifically based. I doubt it has too many fillers. I have tried the cat on other things, trying to find a cheaper alternative, but as I said, he doesn't...

snowy @BriHennessey This is his regular diet. I would call your vet and ask for recommendations. It is Royal Canin Urinary SO. The cheapest way to get it is to have it shipped from Chewy.com. a bag will be shipped about every six weeks and it costs about 40 dollars....
