i cant set the timing on it no mater whut i do. i need help the car needs help!!!

ASSUMING THE ENGINE IS SOHC THERE SHOULD BE A TIMING DOT ON THE CAM GEAR. TAKE TIMING BELT LOOSE, TURN ENGINE OVER BY HAND UNTIL NUMBER 1 PISTON IS ON TDC. TURN CAMGEAR UNTIL TIMING DOT IS AT 6:00 POSITION. CHECK ROTOR BUTTON UNDER DIST. CAP TO MAKE SURE IT IS...
