How far apart is a good time frame to have your children?

I just had a baby 4 months ago and I was wondering how long is the average waiting period before couples start on a next. We are going through a pregnancy scare at the moment, and are truthfully not sure how we feel about it....

Jackie1212 I am currently pregnant with my 1st baby. He is Due in Dec. I plan on having more. I am not sure about the time frame though, as right now money is tight. I at least know that I would like to have him out, or close to out of diapers before I get pregnant...
