When your child becomes a certain age (before 18) will you let them use profanity? My father did, when we were 15. I dont think Id be comfortable with letting our little girl have a potty mouth.

Nicki_Mermaid I would feel like my husband was disrespecting me by not honoring my wish. I mean it isnt an unusual or ridiculous request, you're asking him to help you raise your children the right way, with respect for elders. It only seems like your children wont curse...

And then they continue with "Im gay." How would you HONESTLY feel about this? I would be upset, and probably wonder if it was my fault. Eventually, though, I would be ok with it and be happy for them if thats what makes them...

Nicki_Mermaid TEACHES her foul language? Thats awful! Man, that really irks me. I can understand if an adult slips up every once in awhile, but wow. I would imagine her kid would just forget all of the things she was taught about being nice before she forgot her curse...

Nicki_Mermaid Interesting perspective, it makes sense that a child who doesnt curse has to use their brain to find other words and ways to express their opinions. I like that idea, very much so.

Nicki_Mermaid The disprespect POV is a great one. I was kind of on the fence about this subject, as I said my dad allowed it (and still does with my 2 teenage step brothers), but now my mind is made up that it's just a crude habit. Thanks!
