Can dogs eat Chickpeas?

I often feed my dog left over food but I don't want to feed him anything that is bad for him. Does anyone know if it is ok for dogs to eat chickpeas?

Sharlevoix Doesn't hummus usually have a lot of garlic in it??? I'm not sure but, garlic is in the same food category as onions and onions for sure are toxic.
