CCD or CMOS and why?

andy013 Todays, there are some manufacturer produce compact digicam that use CCD lense. ie. Fuji, Canon, Sony. They produce point and shoot digicam that easy to used, even for beginner photographer. I have sony cybershot dsc-w55 that use CCD lens.
