why are people so quick to judge?

I want to know why people so quick to judge people that are different? like i'm handicap and people is quick to think i'm retarded or mentally challenges when i'm just in a wheelchair. So can anybody explain to me why?

askmzlala well i used to let everything people say bother me but i don't anymore. it just i was out today and people was looking at me up and down and was saying stuff so it kind of got to me. made me mad.
