I've just got new laptop acer aspire, it has no OS installed in it.. I've been trying hard to install winxp but it wont work somehow, so help me please..

bintil well, I went into the bios and set the boot via DVD/CD-rom so that the bootable winxp cd can run after i restart my laptop but it bypasses the winxp boot. probably something wrong with winxp installer cd. it doesnt look like a bootable cd at all. anyway...
