blage1 Actually, there's one hour less for sleeping. You 'skip' an hour of sleep.

Daylight saving (or 'summer time') is pointless.

Daylight saving is absolutely pointless, in my opinion. It gets dark at 9:00pm, when you're having a party you like the ambience of the nighttime, not a glare from the sun.

blage1 Exactly Lilaclady. Also, have you noticed pro-DST people call anti-DST people 'whingers'? Well, the pro-DST people were all whinging about the lack of DST before the trial implementation.
