How long do you keep a desktop before changing it?

I have a computer. It is seven years old. It became slow. I am thinking to change it. Is it too early? I waited a lot, but I lost my patience. I can barely work on it. My smartphone is much faster. Now computers are so expensive....

Anna @bsetiadi There is no possible "depends" because she said that her desktop is 7 years old. I calculated how much it would have costed to upgrade mine and I bought a new one. My husband was a programmer and we have always built our own computers. I know of what...

Anna DO NOT folllow @bsetiadi advice to upgrade your comuter. An old motherboard cannot work with a new processor, you surely only have a 2.0 USB port that is very slow. Do not waste money upgrading a 7 years old computer, you end up spending more than buying a new...
