Remedy for Boils

What would be the best home remedy for boil?

Just an Ordinary Owl? A hot compress. A facecloth or similar dipped in water as hot as you can bear and applied until it cools. Repeat until the boil bursts then clean and disinfect thoroughly and cover with a gauze pad so that the wound can breathe and heal.
