Has anyone else own or have heard of Emotional Support Animals? I only found out about them a year or so ago, and I have to tell you mine has made a great impact and difference in my life.

Has anyone else own or have heard of Emotional Support Animals? I only found out about them a year or so ago, and I have to tell you mine has made a great impact and difference in my life.

The Horse @rebelann The dog's presence was soothing. I petted the dog, and then took my kid client out hiking. The therapist stayed back with the mom.

Cynthia Owens Yes, I have. Many times after the death of a spouse or close loved one, an animal can give the grieving person companionship, and be of great help emotionally.

rebelann1949 Yep, they are the best listeners and let a person cry all they want, in fact I get the feeling most people can pour their hearts out better to a pet than a friend.

Nanette Piotrowski One of the best ones around @Cinimin is Train a Dog Save a Warrior. These dogs are trained specifically to be with our wounded soldiers for physical and emotional support.

Mike I think i've heard of them being brought in to hospitals and such. don't know if thats what you mean.

rebelann1949 I've read a few articles about therapists using pets to soothe their patients @TheHorse in fact one therapist wrote about how using horses was helping not just his kids with physical disabilities but also some with autism and other emotional problems.

The Horse I've heard of them. One of my clients has a therapist who brought a support dog to their house the other day.
