dad_e_blogger It is possible to build a true friendship online. For proof I saw on a news website that two people met on myspace and one of them donated a kidney to the other friend. Now that's true friendship.

dad_e_blogger I think it is always possible especially if they have symptoms of depression. You should keep the communication open with her. Your friend should see a doctor and get treatment for her depression.
