I just got a song from the band Tunay na AMO. Arnel Pineda was the singer back then (around 90's) entitled "Running Away". And Alamid's "I Just Wasn't Brave Enough". Can you suggest more songs of the same genre and the same era?

Scott Freeman @damned_dle F.Y.I. Running Away was not sung by Arnel Pineda. The lead vocals on that song is Joey Nuguid (keyboardist and vocalist) of the band.
