Is this game all that great? (Gears of War)

Now i just bought this from eb games, and i cant really get into it. Why does everyone like it so much. Now I like halo 2 and all the other games but htis one really doesn't grab me.

dancecommander I honestly was hooked the second I started playing. Probably one of the best games I've played in awhile and one of the main reasons I got an Xbox360

I enjoy online death matches as much as the next guy, but what is up with the people playing online? I mean, the swearing, noisemaking and worse: quitting. I think these badboys need to lay off the coffee or whatever they are...

dancecommander Well I agree and don't agree. I've myself have sworn and sang etc. In games, I tell people who don't want to listen to me to mute me. I've only really muted two or three people since I've gotten the game. Quitting is pretty bad, and I rarely leave a game....
