How do you get stars next to your name?

I've only been a member for about a day, trying hard to post away with some quality...but I was wondering, how do people get the star next to their name with a number in it and what does it mean exactly? I don't get exactly how...

metal_monkee I am not sure, but i think its something to do with number of activities...if you reach a certain number then probably they will give u a star next to your name ^_^
