How long til kittens are weaned?

My cat had her babies a couple nights ago. They're so cute! I'm sad because I'm gonna have to give most of them away. Anywho, how long does it normally take for kittens to be weaned? I had heard 6 weeks. Is that true?

foreverhers0711 I have one kitten from a litter and he was born on the 21st of nov. it is now the 7th of february and he isnt weaned... the mother doesnt even try to wean him I have been trying to keep them separated because I heard over nursing can cause mental problems.
