Which is a better pet? a cat or a dog?

i am planning to have a new pet since "bimby", my kitten died a month ago.. but i'm still not sure what should i get.. will i get another cat or a dog this time? which is better? help me decide please..

gauri2308 both cats n dogs are a good pet. i personally feel that dogs are sometimes more interesting. they are more understanding and playfull. specially the small breads like pug, lhasa apso are very playfull. taking dogs for walks and playing with them is a stress...
