Why did they not include all scenes in the book in the movies?

Such as: Prisoner of Azkaban - they (directors)did not show in the movie how Sirius Black escaped from prison. Goblet of Fire - they did not show how other contestants battle the dragon

giggleybear_4 maybe because the length of time will be very long if they include all scenes from the book to the movies. another would be, so that more fans would still opt to read the books.
