Why take food out of the bowl to the carpet?

I have two dogs. One chihuahua, and one poodle. When they eat food from their bowl, they put the food in their mouths, and then take the pieces to the carpet in the next room and eat it there. Both of them do this. My son was...

jaguares well i have 1 dog but he dose do almost the same thing but he just takes it out of the bowl and eats it hes a American Eskimo his bowl is on the tile he picks it up and puts it down on to the tile but not on the carpet
