Strategies to get direct Referrals

I engaged myself, at the moment, into PTC sites. I found it very hard to look for direct referrals. Can anyone help me give some strategies on how to obtain direct referrals?

From what I have read you can post links to other sites as long as it is about the topic. This is in no way a replacement for mylot these are 2 different types of things. I figured for people who want a little bit of extra money...
