on birthday there is any rule to cut the cake if we don,t cut we can,t celabrate

i think there is no rule to cut the cake on birthday just i go to temple and pray the god and i help the poor people i wear new clothes i think cutting the cake cumpolsory but i give the party to my friends and my family members
