I am not really for diets for the long term but see them as a way to jumpstart my way to better eating habits. Once I go on a diet I usually get so sick of what I'm allowed to eat that afterward I will gladly eat foods that I know...

kooreta for those who do not eat rice/chappathi:- bread,egg(omlet), bannana, milk in morning and home made pizza with less masala and lot of vegetables with carrot beans peas orions potatos etc along with lots and lots of fruits like bannana, apple, strawberries,...
