How do you get your credit cards to lower your interest rate?

I have heard that people call credit card companies and get their interest rates lowered. How do you go about that? Do you just call the regular customer service number? What do you say to convince them to lower the rate? Any tips...

I'd love to learn how to make my own patterns for sweaters or stuffed animals and such. I have been crocheting for a number of years, but always with a pattern. how do you make a pattern of your own?
