Is it safe to open the front door when you are alone at home?

A lot of people, mainly sales people, come during the afternoon when I am alone at home. My front door has glass on it and I can see who rang the bell. Usually there will be someone I have never known before with a huge smiling...

mekr55 i think that you should be careful and do not let the door opened but sales people who came to us we cant ignore them completely but we must be careful when we talk to them thats what i think
