I dont knw if this is the ryt place.....but an answer would be really help ful two days ago my laptop hard drive gave away....it was corrupted to the root...took it out of the laptop. now new notebook hds are really expensive for...

My answer would be everything has a life span and will over time get old and need replacing however a flash drive should have a very long life span without corruption. It might be slower than a hard drive. I am not 100% sure about this answer but for not...
