In our society y is ladies always given first preference for everything before gents?. wel i feel our ancestors have started this system and we are following the same system wat do u think?

Why in our society we give preference in everything to ladiest first before gents? Wel I feel, it going from past 1000 of years our ancestors started the bsystem and v are just follwing the same. wat do u think?
