I'm from up north and we call it pop. Now I live in Atlanta and they look at me funny cause they call it soda. People are like what did you say!

notmybusiness hello world, anyone can help me understand better. I can know why people call it soda but or for what reason some call it pop. it sound funny. Like: "hi, would you like pop or jazz?" hehehehehehhe...
