I have always wondered how come Galdalf uses so little the magic. He should be a powerful wizard, but when he fights with the enemies he always uses the wand! Few times he cast some spell and never during the fights. For instance,...

olorin_majestic until gandalf became gandalf, the white his powers were very limited. after he becomes white he does break saurman's staff. we can onlyy assume that he doen't use much magic after that as he didn't have to or that he lost most of his powers when he came from...
