Hummingbird Nectar recipe?

Does anyone have a recipe for hummingbird nectar? I read somewhere that the red food coloring is not necessary, but the premixed nectar I bought was red. The mix looked much like jello before you mix it with water.

Hummingbirds

The hummingbirds have been busy visiting the feeders and flowers. It is entertaining watching them chasing each other.

parkwaybandit They are very entertaining. I love to watch the reaction of people when hummers fly at them. I have never heard of a hummer flying into anyone. Yesterday two hummers were fighting and clutched onto each other twenty feet in the air. They did a dead fall to...
