The rights to Stephen King's opus, the Dark Tower series were recently purchased by J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof of Lost creation fame. My question is this: the Dark Tower is arguably one of the greatest fantasy series ever...

pooweasel719 I am right there with you on almost every point you've made. Clint Eastwood would have been perfect for Roland--10 years ago. And I agree with keeping Cromwell as Callahan. I like Gyllenhall fo Eddie, alot, but I'm not sure about Jennifer Hudson...I see where...

What other book series is comparable with Lord of the Rings in Fantasy fiction?

I have read a lot of fantasy fiction series like Harry Potter series and even recently I read Eragon. I want to know from others at mylot as to which other fantasy fiction series is comparable to Lord of the Rings?

pooweasel719 you're right. dune is definitely science fiction, not fantasy, but it is an amazing series! i'm partial to the first few books, again, a series rich in it's own mythology and history. i also highly recommend these books!
