Are you a procrastinator?

Several years ago my wife and I were both working at a hospital when they offered a class on helping to overcome procrastination. Knowing that I was a pretty bad procrastinator my wife asked if I wanted to go to the class. Without thinking about it I honestly replied that I would go next time they offered it. I realised I had a problem and began working on it. She is the very opposite so we balance each other out, or so I tell her. I have come a long way though. What about you? Do you put things off? Do you put them off for long periods of time or forget about them completely? I just wonder how the rest of you deal with it.

I need that class!
But then if they gave homework, I would probably wait till the last minute to do it. LOL
I am terrible, I know there are things that I need to do, but I will put them off until the last minute, and then it's rush, rush, rush.
Good thing I work well under pressure.

It really depends. I put things off that I know I can do just in time and don't procrastinate on things that I know I cannot leave until the last minute. I also don't procrastinate when I work in a team because I can't let everyone else down but if I am working by myself I tend to procrastinate at times. I never forget what I have to do though and it always does get done.

yes i am a procrastinator..but what happened with u is not very bad...all of us put things and then forget them...its a normal and natural phenomenon..every body forgets...its good u have got a wife opposite to you so she can make up for you...you can write things down in some diary and make a priority list..u can improve by having written work with you...

Ha this is funny because me and my girlfriend bicker over this alot. When something has to be done Im the type of guy who likes to get it done fast and out of the way. I hate putting things off because when you get around to it, it eventually is worst then when first started off where as my girlfriend is the QUEEN of procastination. She never does anything she says and her famous words are Ill do it tommorow forsure but the tommorow never comes. I think procrastination is a sign of being lazy which Im not and either is my girlfriend except when it comes to doing things she hates. I guess thats normal though.

I am a professional procrastinator when it comes to certain things like folding laundry, cleaning the house and returning telephone calls. For other things I am right on them immediately. I guess I tend to put off things I believe are unpleasant, or tasks that I repeat (like laundry and cleaning)with no end in sight. I don't like that about myself, but it is who I am!

Hehehe, you just wrote about me and hubby. He procarstinates until the lest second possible, or never at all. I am the opposite. It bothers me a lot. I don't like to nag, but if I don't, it will never ever get done. He agrees he is like that, but he won't or cannot change. Nor can I. Well, we are married 30 years, happy too, but I must say we still will have fights about this.

This was just a discussion in one of my college classes. It seems a lot of people suffer from procrastination because of perfectionism. At least that is my case. I'm so worried that I may not do a good job at something, so I put it off until last minute. The best way I have found to deal with this is to stay positive and just dive into whatever I may be procrastinating about.

Wow that is really cool that they had a class on that. I would love to go to a class for that, since I am a horrible procrastinator! I could have an assignment that we have a week to work on and I will wait until the night before to do it, which is really bad! It also puts a lot of stress on me, and I wish that I wasn't like that. Hopefully there will be a class like that offered to me sometime!

I am not a procastinator. I like to get things done early. Otherwise I just keep thinking and thinking about it. It robs me of sleep, beause I'll lay there thinking about what i need to get done. My husband is a procastinator and at times it drives me crazy.

i am a big procrastinator. I procrastinate small things even. But i know that its not good but it so happens that i am very lazy to do some takes at times and i delay them for tomorrow . But i know that a stitch in time saves nine. Yesterday even i had a paper where i had written some important things which had fell down on the floor from the table. I delayed taking it up and keeping it again on the table and today am not able to find where the paper went and i doubt whether the maid cleaned everything off:-(

I am a huge procrastinator! I wish I wasn't because sometimes I put things off so long that I forget about them completely! It's especially bad with school work. I never do it until last minute. Same with studying, I cant get myself to study until the very last minute, which is sometimes a half hour before the test!

i believe everyone does procastinate.. come on.. nobody is free to do all the task they're assign to in a day.. don't you agree with it? we just have too many things to do in a day.. and yes.. if we are able to manage our timetable well.. i do agree we can save alot of time.. and spend less time procastinating things we're suppose to do.. i'm trying my very best to stop procastinating and always finishes my task first.. i'm not sure if it's working... but i do self control myself :)

No, I'm not. Waiting until the last minute to start a task can also be used as a defense for poor performance. You can always claim that it would have been better had there been more time. Once delay becomes a habit, it undermines your ability to function effectively.

I guess you can call me a non-procrasinator. I am one of those people that pretty much sticks to the old adage-"why put off tomorrow what you can do today?"
Why not
What is so wrong with getting things done now instead of waiting and then end up being sorry later when something goofs up because you waited?
Procrastinating, I believe is the world's oldest and one of the worst habits.
