well, this was one big step for internet surfers. a file hosting service! and free! :) you had something u wanted to share with someone else, but was too big to e-mail? no worries, now u can upload it on a website, and that/those someone can get it from there. And it's free! The best file hosting service in my opinion is rapidshare. And i say that mostly because you can upload and download from there FAST!!! i usually dl with 100-200 kbps from site, but from RS, i got to download with 1-1,5 and even 2 mbps!!! what about you? what file hosting services do you use? and why?

I usually upload files on rapidshare.com only. Because it is free for uploading & it does not need any toolbar to get download just like in megaupload. And if the file size is even bigger, its easier to upload and send the link to the friends via email. Even I made my Rapidshare folder for my friends to get the downloads or necessary files they wanted. Here is my Rapidshare folder, if you want you may use it, http://rapidshare.com/users/UX8Z70 AND http://rapidshare.com/users/EW5CMO If you want to contact me then contact at: polite_vijay@rediffmail.com OR vijayganeshaniyer@yahoo.co.in Have a nice day.

First choice is Rapidshare, it has quite fast uploads, very high speed downloads and you can upload up to 100mb for free. The downside to Rapidshare is that you can only download a file once per hour for free and the upload limit is 100mb unless you pay, which is not something i intend to do. If i want to upload something bigger than 100mb for free and fast i use FileFront. It has a very good upload system, a reasonable download speed and the file retention is very good. Also for image hosting i use imageshack. I would stay away from one file hosting site called Gigasize because in my experience the upload will crash near completion.

yes! the waiting time for free users is a ...medium to major setback at RS. but, hey! we gotta understand'em...who would spend money to make something ABSOLUTELLY FREE?? would you? i surelly wouldn't. :)

I use Mediamax for this. It's free, it's fast, it's easy to understand (user friendly) and I like the storage capacity. I also like the fact that you can download from a link.
