How to get rid of stretch marks?

I’ve heard tones of theories but have you tried anything that actually works?

I'll have a look. It's difficult because you don't know what you can trust.

Hi, as far as I'm aware there isn't much you can do once you've actually gotten them. Lanolin works during pregnancy if you rub it on your stomache whilst pregnant to prevent stretch marks.

I've lost 30 pounds and was left with stretch marks. Don't worry they will go away eventually. My applied Vitamin E lotion to the damaged region twice a day for about a month. There is still some spots that haven't healed %100, but I'm not worried about it.

I use a product from Avon called SuperShape. Though it don't remove them completely, it fades them almost completely. I love the product, and feel now I can wear a bathing suit without the embarassment of these deep stretch marks I once had.

Cocoa Butter lotions are the only thing to prevent stretch marks. Scar creams like Maderma are pretty much the only way to get rid of them faster, since it's basically a scar in your skin.

Yes, raw shea butter. I posted a discussion about raw shea butter awhile ago. Scroll through the discussions I started and see it.

100% Shea butter is suppose to be good for stretch marks. I've had two children and I do not have any stretch marks. When I was pregnant I rubbed shea butter or Queen Halene Cocoa butter on my stomach everyday once in the morning and again at night from the time I found out I was pregnant everyday.

I just saw a T.V. commerical on a product that is suppose to work on stretch marks. I've never used it, but this might work for you. http://www.bio-oil.info/en/home

According to doctors ,stretch marks aren't treatable. You can minimize them by not gaining excess weight in pregnancy, but the greatest determinant of stretch marks is your genes. Some families have a tendency towards them and others don't. Women spend lots of money on creams and lotions that are supposed to prevent or treat stretch marks, but research hasn't shown that anything actually works. The only good news is that over time, stretch marks usually fade to paler silvery lines, and are less noticeable. For now, try to be heartened by the fact that they are signs of the true miracle that your body has accomplished--growing a whole new human.

But that's not what they are from! I'm 18 lol. Oh well, i guess i'll just have to live with them.

There's cream which help to reduce the marks, until there no longer visible other than that giving the stretched area time to go back to normal but that's a longer process. Goodluck, ~Joey

Someone told me to put cocoa butter lotion on my tummy when I'm pregnant. Unfortunately he told me about it after I had my first baby. Some said it's genetics. My Mom doesn't have stretchmarks. I have lots of them.

I used tummy honey during my pregnancy and still got stretch marks. I talked to a dermatologist about this and he said if he knew the secret to getting rid of stretch marks, he would be the richest man in the world. It has to do with genetics whether you get them and how bad they are. I was also told that the only way to reduce stretch marks is to reverse what brought them on in the first case. I just see my stretch marks as the toll that pregnancy took on my body and if my man doesn't like them, well too bad!

I don;t think once you get stretech mark it will go naturally ..my wife has it but i never noticed it i think its because she is very fair and it gets hidden there ..and i realised its just faded as the time passes ..but it will not go away compeletely

Hopefully they will! Thanks for the response!
