I think I'm sick

Allergy season, right? I don't normally have a problem with sniffles and such but I've been a bit sniffley the last couple days, yesterday I had an awful headache that seemed to start just on my right cheek, nose, and forehead, I didn't sleep well last night snorting and sniffling, and now this morning I've got an awful sore throat and feel icky!! My fiance wants to take me in to the doctor to check for strep...uhhh NO! Nothing personal but I hate doctors!! I'm seriously a bit phobic about them since my miscarriage. I just want to take my usual remedy, lots of liquids, a really good dose of cayenne pepper and garlic capsules, wrap up really good in blankets, and sweat the beastie out.
Another really good one for a cough is to chop an onion, cover it with honey, then set it aside. Eventually a thin liquid rises to the top which you can pour off and take. It actually even tastes a lot like commercial cough syrups to me!
What about you? Share thoughts, opinions, or even home remedies!

I also go for the garlic, it seems to help. I also drink tons of juice and hot (echinacea) tea. Airborne really helps too if you use it at the first sign of a cold. I like to wrap myself up and get lots of rest which really makes the most difference.

Yep, I agree! Liquids, rest, and wrapping up seem to help a lot! Garlic and echanacia (bleh, spelling?) are both great home remedies for just about anything it seems! Give a little kick to the old immune system and help clean out some toxins!
I found out that all the ickiness wasn't just allergies or something, I'd been working up to a nasty case of the flu! I dosed up with my pepper and garlic pills and had just settled into a hot bath when my stomach reminded me that I did it without food in there! Oooohhh BAD idea! I thought an atomic bomb was going off in my tummy! Don't ever do that! LOL
Ah well, two pieces of bread and a few tiny sips of milk later let me doze off a bit all wrapped in a blankie sweating like a horse! The cayenne is great for cooking the germies out of ya! If you can survive the cure you won't be sick anymore! LOL Had a good dinner, chugged as much oj as I could stand, another hot bath for the aches, good night's sleep, and I'm right as rain again! Worn and weak but I'll take that over feeling so awful any day!
