I have two cats who are completely indoor cats so they don't really know that there is an option to the litterbox, but I also have 2 that are indoor/outdoor so they know they have options and they always choose the outdoors.
One of the indoor ones is really picky though, and she will potty on the floor, clothes, towels or whatever else she can find, if she thinks the litterbox is too full, which is usually when both cats have only used it once. She is crazy.
The ones who go outside do also bring presents to me as well, and yes sometimes they are still alive. I think it is a show of love and leaving them alive allows you to play with them for a while. That is what they would do if they were bringing to another cat.
My cat has even been known to bring in a present and leave in on my pillow if I am not home when she brings it in. Talk about a surprise. I actually love it because it shows that my cats love me.

It is natural instinct of a cat to hunt. Bringing you gifts, is love, and inborn into her.
As long as she goes outdoors, she will do this, and mostly not use the litter.
My cats never go outside, so I do not have that problem.
+ rating for another fine post. Keep them up sugar.

Thank you again for the best response. You are so sweet. I rated you another + for your reply. Those should help with your star points. As far as the rodants, yuk I don't like it either, but, it's part of having a cat that goes outdoors, and loves you so much. :)

To own a cat, is to be owed by them:) They are very unique animals. I love them a lot.

Oh, yes. My cats do that! We have a cat door so they come and go at will and are always bringing stuff in. Usually with three of them nothing stays alive long.
Sounds like your cat does NOT want to be an inside cat. You might as well bow to the inevitable and let her be a hunter and outside cat! Get rid of the litter box. Enjoy your presents and her trophies. ^.^

lol.. Himalayans and Siamese cats are very high maintenance. My aunt has had Siamese cats ever since I can remember.. They were very tempermental. The one that she has now, his name is Cletus, and he's so fat that he can hardly walk. He's also very cranky.
