Nowadays, once a series runs, after the first season a DVD is created for that series (in some cases, the dvd is created half a season in). So what do you do? Do you watch the series on TV at its allocated time, or do you wait until the DVD comes out? What are the pros and cons?

Lately, we've been watching a lot of DVDs and many of them TV series. We don't have HBO so we see all the HBO series on DVD. Also, we often miss a couple of episodes of a show and then it's too hard to catch up so we wait for it to come out on DVD. Also, many shows are on too late or at an inconvenient time, like Lost so we'll catch those on DVD. It's nice to not have to watch the commercials too.

I will typically watch a season on television first. And then with my favorites I will buy them on dvd after the season has ended. This comes in especially handy with the tv show "Lost". I am a huge fan of the show and I watch faithfully every week. But to some this show tends to be a little confusing. I can follow it along on a weekly basis but when I watch it after it comes out on dvd I watch it again, normally in one weekend and I pick up on so many things that I missed the first time around.
