Hello All!!! I'm writing this post to get your opinions and your stories as well. I am a Customer Service Representative for a local garbage company. I am also front desk which means i get all the people that walk in the door. I also have been loaded with reports, data entry work, cash box, community projects, and other projects my boss gives me. Now don't get me wrong i love doing all of these things except that she still expects me to still answer all the phone calls that come in and believe me we get a lot. I have been working here for two years have only gotten one raise and it was only because it was an annual raise. I have worked my butt off to get where im at and yet im still not getting the recognition that i feel i deserve. I know that you all can't make a fair judgement because im only telling you what i do and you can't actually see what im doing. But today my boss had a meeting with us in the office and decided to point out that i have been a little relaxed on answering the phone. Well may be thats do to the other work that im trying to complete on time for her. Sometimes i feel like she just doesnt appreciate me. Yet when i bring this up to her she says that she doesn't appreciate all that i do and that i am the best person there that i get things done faster than everyone else and they are always correct. Yet when i brought the request of getting a merrit raise she just stated that im getting an annual raise in july of this year there for she doesn't feel it necessary to really ask for a merrit raise for me. Not only that but im doing a lot of extra work for another person in our facility and i don't get reocognition for that either. I am so tired of working somewhere where i don't get appreciated. For the amount of work that im doing and the amount of money i think most people would put their two weeks notice in. But i can't because i have to rely on this job to pay rent and other bills. I'm just so frustrated!!!!!! Grrrrr

hi and I just wanted to let you know you have every right to feel like you do. you should never do more than what is in your job discription snd never do other people's jobs. Most work places never appreciate the extra work that you do beyond you duties. It is looked at as free work that they dont have to pay for if you are willing to continually do for the same pay as always. Good luck to you and I hope it gets better.

Hi. I quite understand how you feel. I've been there once. The issue is that nobody want to pay for a free service. In your own interest, see this place as a learning ground and when you feel you've learnt and had enough, throw in the trowel. This doesn't happen in one day so that means, you've got to improve yourself and look out for better opportunities. i tell you, the day you decide to resign, your boss will renegotiate with you and show you how much you mean to her and the organisation. Don't be frustrated else you will lose your focus and direction. Try to manage the situation, you'll get over it soon. Cheers!
