We always make a baryani rice, fried rice with seafood, salted fish or dried anchovy with dried shrimp paste. We make a chicken rice - the rice cooked in the chicken stock. Sometimes I like the margarine rice - hot plain rice mixed with some margarine and eat with fried egg or fried beef or chicken. During the eid we makes a pressed hot soft rice and serve in cube with spicy peanut gravy and eat with chicken or beef satay or chicken cooked in spices call rendang.

I am Filipino, rice is our staple food. I love eating rice with viands especially adobo. I most love yang chow, a chinese rice delicacy with seafoods, meat, eggs and veggies, this thing can be eaten by itself or without viand.

Hi Paywise! Adobo is very popular here in the Phils. You can do it for eggs, meats, vegetables, fish...etc. For example, with meat, just saute some garlic and onion, add the meat. Then, add some salt and peppercorn. Some soy sauce and some vinegar. Laurel leaves and thyme. Some water if you want, just a little. And then let it simmer. Voila! You have Adobo! Just do the same process for vegetables. (^^,)

Hi there! I am from the Philippines and I eat rice three times a day at the most. Sometimes, twice. I love rice but now I am trying to limit my rice intake to once a day because I am trying to lose some weight. I lost a lot of weight when I gave up rice after I gave birth to our son.

i'm a filipina and rice is always on our table lunchtime and dinnertime. it gives us energy for the whole day. but too much rice can cause you to be obese and harmful if you're a diabetic because of carbo and glucose. it should be eaten moderately.

Hi, paywise. It depends on. In south of China, people eat rice as a majoity everyday. But in the north, people eat bread. I live in middle of China, so I eat both of them!

i am asian, and i guess this percentage would be more or less correct... i myself have grown up with rice being part of every meal of the day... some even eat rice for snacks...rice is actually a staple in a meal eaten at my house and in any food chain/restaurant you can stumble into in my country... we consider no meal to be complete or satisfying if rice were to be absent from the table...(unless, of course, if one is on a no-rice diet...)

hmm...i guess i'd have to say that paella would probably be the best rice meal i've tasted so far...it's a filipino dish consicting of rice mixed with a lot of seafood, chicken and jus about any type of meat you'd prefer to eat...but mostly rice is eaten with a meal as oposed to rice being a meal...
