I prefer to take my bath at the end of the day before I go to bed...it cleans my body from the day's work, and it cleans my soul as it is a relaxation time for me....where I can gather my thoughts from the day...contemplate whatI should do next.
I spent 10 years of my life as a nurse and have never heard anything remotely close to that.....I specialized in the elder and if that was true I would think the physicians would not have allowed this to happen on a daily basis.
Just wanted to give you my thoughts on this issue. Blessed be!

Meir Kryger M.D. the author of "A Woman's Guide to Sleep Disorders" recommends bathing or showering at night as a way to relax before going to bed.
So, I'd say your mom is incorrect.
I have heard that taking baths can cause women problems, such as urinary tract and yeast infections. Of course it has nothing to do with when you take your bath.

Doesn't sound right to me, unless you are bathing in ice cold water or boiling water. My father had a heart attack when he was 65. He never EVER went swimming again. He said he didn't care how warm the water might be, it might be a shock to his system if it was too cold and he didn't want to risk it. He could live without it so he did (he used to swim all summer before that).
Taking a warm bath at night will help you relax your mind and your muscles and help you to get to sleep. There is nothing wrong with having a nice warm bath at night. Just make sure the temperature of the water is comfortable.

So your fact here is depend on the temperature....Hmmm.Now I could open my mind broadly. Thanks to you.Maybe I'm just thinking about the desease.
But my mom also told me how the process happen. The water at the night is easier to diffuse into our lung (heart) and cause the disease.I forgot to post this earlier.
Hmmm.....

I'm afraid your mom is wrong.
It doesn't matter what time of day you take a bath.
Just think about it, does it make sense? It doesn't to me.
Millions of people take a bath at night. Don't you think if this did cause heart problems that it would be well known?
If you have your doubts, ask a doctor, I can tell you right now that no doctor will answer yes to that. That is just crazy. I'm sure it wasn't a real doctor that said this to your mom.
Maybe she miss understood something?

i think it is a matter of viewpoint, if you belidve in traditional medicine, they will advice you as such.
Western medicine will not advocate such as it is not backed by science or data yet. Still, it is safer to avoid late night baths unless necessary.

I dont feel that this true. Because i take a bath almost every second night. I havent had any problems. I have also watched my father do this. He has been doing this for almost 10 years now. And he is perfectly healthy.
What your mother told you may be true. This kind of conclusions come out of surveys conducted by some institutes. They may be true. But their odds are very uneven. So, you should carry on with your way of doing things and dont worry about this stuff.

Hmmm. I think she might have heard something different and interpreted it as "don't take a bath at night". I've had people say they heard things from an expert and later find out that they doctor said something totally different or said it for a special reason. It's possible that he might have said that because she has a special condition, but it might not be true for the general public. I have taken baths/showers at night and it's been no problem. Usually, I like to take it after I do my exercise or before I go to work.

Growing up I took baths, including my family. Only person in my family that has heart problems is my dad. I don't think it's heart disease, one half of my dad's heart is bigger than the other, and because of that, the smaller half works overtime to keep up with the larger half.
Maybe it depends on the temperture of the water that the doctor was talking about, even with that I don't know how that would work. You could always ask your family doctor about this and see what he or she tells you.

I don't know why but my grandma also used to say this. Actually, I think I agree if it's really been said by a doctor, but I guess it also depends if it has already been your habit of taking a bath at night. But if you only take a bath at night sometimes or just take a quick bath or shower, I guess it won't affect you.. well, atleast I hope.

it really is dangerous when its too much. when u take hotbath and you didnt do it usually for sure it will affect your heart specially when ur in a sauna bath and you body cant adopt to it. cold bath too can be dangerous specially for babies coz it might cause athsma again when its too much. so we if we usually do it then i guess there nothing wrong for as long as its not too much.

its a supertitious belief that's what an old time people tells us about coz of their belief but right now most people don't beleive that kind of stuff, that's why il tried already to take a bath at night and nothing happens to me, just only taking a bath at night won't take you s long, just take a bath then in about 10 minutes your finish.
