Hotels: Love 'em or hate 'em?

I'm in a hotel tonight, which is why I'm on my laptop -- wireless networks are awesome! In any case..I love hotels. I don't know why..I'm just always so much more relaxed out of the house. Whether that's at a hotel like this one or when we're camping at our yearly five day vacation at a flea market. I like how close I am to..food..stores..libraries..internet. Without necessarily having to deal with people staring at me. I'm kind of..self concious. I know, it's all in my head. I just don't like dealing with people most of the time. Sometimes I wanna be around people, but most often than not.. In ANY case, this is an awesome experience. Especially with the cable tv we don't have at home..and the beds which are always so much softer than any other beds, no matter how brand new lol. How about you guys? Like hotels? Dislike them? Why?

I love hotels. Roughing it is sharing a bed with another human, but since I share my bed at home with generally 5 to 7 cats, and they like to lean or lay on me, AND I sleep in a twin bed, a double bed to myself is wonderful!

I love going to hotels to get out of my tiny house, get some cable, some me time, and my favorite part about hotels is the pool.

I like staying in a good hotel, but haven't been to a hotel for a very long time now. My partner prefers going camping but once in a while I would love to sink into a nice comfortable bed and relax, knowing that i can call room service :-)

i love staying in hotels because of the buffet breakfast where there's an unlimited supply of bacon, yum, yum, yum. i just can't get myself to use the complimentary toothbrush. i can't help but think that the sealed toothbrush in the bathroom have been used by a previous occupant and the management just re-sealed it. am i just being paranoid?LOL

Lol yeah just a little. Most hotels have inspections by the health department..so they would've been caught if they resealed the toothebrushes lol. 'Sides my Mom's worked in a hotel, she would've noticed lol.

I guess it all depends what the hotel is like. I spend at least one weekend in a hotel per month, and most of them are like you say better than home, with beautiful soft duvets and coffee in your bedroom! Some however have alot to be desired with unwanted smells, lumpy beds and such like! So yes I do enjoy staying in them if they are nice!

As long as there is a friendly atmosphere, and the place is clean, than I enjoy staying in hotels. I'm not a messy person so I'm not worried about the cleaning staff talking behind my back. And if you're in the city it's very handy..:)

Yeah, hotels are cool, they provide breakfast and that is a treat. I like the running water unlimited. I never feel cleaner. I can relax and take a break since I am so busy at home. Just found out that I get a raise on my job and so this is a party weekend for since I am also staying at a hotel. Wonder if we are neighbors? Have a good time and have a great week!

Hotels love 'em, when you have children you know it's hard to have that one on one time with your partner. So, every once in a while we bring the kids to my mothers & go spend the night out at a Hotel in the city. We have great ones in NYC, they also have very good food.

i love hotels to stay in... however, i work in the customer service line for IHG hotels... i don't like hotels as much.... i know of all the dirty things in hotel rooms and bad experiences in hotels. i still love to go to them... i do bring my own sheets and blankets though (i would suggest that other do to or take a blacklight with you....)

hotels are expensive. so, i don't usually go to those places. but honestly, i love to be in hotels. you don't need to do much there. it's like a vacation come true. you don't have to do any chores when in a hotel. you just sleep, take a bath, watch telly, and enjoy the silence. whenever i am annoyed at home, i sometimes think of going to hotels and spend a day or two on my own. some peace of mind. haha. if i only got some money to do so. happy myLotting!

well it definately depends on the type of hotel. I have been to some noisy hotels i really wished i stayed at home instead. Well there are others that give you a five star welcome and i feel i didnt want it to end. I love the wireless connections, ability to have someone bring an ordered plate into your room and having the full luxury of when and how you want your choice of room. Basically i think i love them

I love staying at hotels. I don't get to very often but when I do I live it up. I really want to stay at a luxury hotel just once. Be pampered and all that stuff. I love to travel but don't get to that often. I would also like to stay at a bed and breakfast sometime.

Yes, every once in a while I do love them:) And you're right about the beds, they always seem to be nice and comfy. And the best thing about them is that I do not have to make it in the morning :):):) But for me it's a bit different. I love hotels that are actually away from most things. I like an hotel away from the big city, in a calm/quiet place that allows me to just relax and enjoy some quiet time. I prefer that it has internet access, a nice but not overpriced restaurant and most important : an indoor pool, so I can enjoy swimming even in winter. If it has a special quiet place for reading it is a plus.

Clean hotels are always nice. Don't like that blanket which they only clean once every year or 2 though. :P I think saying in a hotel conveys the feeling that you are having a holiday. After all, the average person wouldn't be staying there unless it is a holiday anyway. I know of some friends who stayed in hotels for prolonged periods while having their houses built but they are the rare exception. Hotels are not that cheap. :P So yes, I do love hotels. Not the cost though.
