For example, today I'm ordering out lunch, and there is a $4.00 charge for delivering it.Do I need to tip them also than? Or does the $4.00 charge go to the driver?

My husband use to work for Pizza Hut & Papa Johns for extra cash, and the delivery charge does not go toward the drivers at all.....so I always tip alittle bit extra that way I know the driver got paid for that delivery.

I generally give the tip to my delivery man. it gives a smile to his face and a nice feeling to me.

If there is a delivery charge I usually dont tip the driver. If delivery is free then I do tip. I hope the charge is passed on to the driver.

I guess if the charges is written on the reciept it will goes to the company but we're not sure if they share the tips to the staffs. But as for me, if i have money i give tips at the same time to make the delivery guy happy at least and send my order quickly next time around :)

No that $4 delievery charge is for the fuel for the person to drive to deliver the food. I would tip them. I think that many of them don't get tipped because of the delivery charge. I believe the delivery charge goes to fuel and vehicle expenses provided by the company. They don't see that money except maybe in their paychecks and then it is probably a dollar out of the four.

It really depends on the service or the company. You can always ask where that $4 goes. Like, in pizza delivery. The delivery fee just goes to the cost to make deliveries like car toppers, warmer bags, etc. The driver never sees that. So, I would ask, and then if the delivery person doesn't get the $4 and if you feel like being polite and helping the delivery person out, base it on general attitude(did they seem happy to be delivery to you?) and serivce (on time, what you ordered).

The delivery charge is for the company not to the person who deliver to you. I usually give them extra money for tip.

For me, whenever I ordered food delivery, I look first at the receipt. When the delivery is included at my bill, I never give a tip to the delivery boy. When it is not included, that's the time I give a tip. I believe that the delivery charge goes to all the delivery man. They sum all their charges for delivery and then it is added in their monthly salary. I think it's part of their commission whenever they make a delivery.
