I have a heck of time keeping the two year old out of drawers and cupboards. I know there are safty latches but then i can't get in and out of them easy! how do you teach them to keep out?

I don't know how your house is set up, but when my son was that little I just put up a baby gate to keep him out of the kitchen and kept the bathroom doors closed. You could always keep anything dangerous stored in one of your bathrooms and let your two year old have free reign over your cabinets.

Yeah we have two gates in the house but i can't block off tthe kitchen no where to latch the gate on to block it off. i wish this would be the easiest solution by far!

I stopped using the child safety latches because my kids could get into the cabinets anyway. The way I dealt with it was to take everything that could be harmful to them out of cabinets they could get into and put things in the cabinets that were either of no use to them or things that were harmless like tupperware containers, pots and pans. Eventually, they lost interest knowing they could go in them any time they wanted to. I think when they can't get into them, they just want to get into them more and when they realize they can, they get bored and move on to something else.

oh boy just as i suspected i loose. She wins. LOL this is the technique we use. just let'm at me. what else are you gonna do? Oh well. I just thought maybe i was out dated on yet another topic and that there was a new solution out there. I guess cleaning out the harmfuls and letting them where out the fun by allowing them to get at the stuff is the only way. unless you want to be locked out of them yourself witht the safty latches.
